The Job

PAPAYA INSURTECH is a Singapore-based Insurance Technology (Insurtech) startup that was built in 2019. Papaya constantly focuses on building and developing advanced technology solutions according to the 4.0 era of the Insurance industry to passionately fulfill our commitment to not only providing customers with complete protection through innovative insurance products but also accompanying the insurance industry of the country to catch up with the world's technological development trend.

Own the infrastructure, monitoring, security and site reliability of all Papaya products - a GenAI-powered enterprise platform for the insurance industry (Claim, Underwriting, Policy Servicing, FWA) serving partners across SEA and Asia.

Use Claude Code as your primary tool to build, operate and secure infrastructure (Papaya provides a Claude Code Team Premium account).

Manage our cloud infrastructure, mainly on AWS (using most of the common AWS services), plus workloads on GCP.

Manage our Kubernetes infrastructure.

Build and own monitoring, alerting and incident response; drive reliability across all products.

Support the implementation of, and ensure ongoing compliance with, ISO 27001, HIPAA and regional data-protection regulations.

Build and operate infrastructure for AI agents.

Your Skills and Experience

Must have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.

At least 6 years of total experience in software development, of which at least 4 years in a DevOps, DevSecOps or Cloud Engineering role.

Hands-on experience with AWS.

Experience managing Kubernetes.

Experience in system security and data security.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD.

Experience using a coding agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar) in your daily work and willing to work with Claude Code as the standard tool at Papaya.

Articulate in verbal and text communications.

Love writing. Enjoy languages.

Nice to have:

Experience with GCP.

Experience in Site Reliability Engineering.

Experience implementing ISO 27001 or SOC 2.

Experience deploying infrastructure for AI agents.

Experience working in regulated industries (insurance, healthcare, finance).

Experience in technical leadership.
