Essential Functions/Responsibilities:The student will be exposed to and expected to learn the basics in the many different technologies used at Samtec. These may include but are not limited to the following:3D / Parametric part and tooling designDimensional, electrical, and force analysis equipmentAutomated and hand assembly equipment and processes including those employing vision technologyUsing CAD software (Solidworks), Design all mechanical elements of either manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic tooling and equipment used in volume production in Samtec’s assembly processes.Support Production in troubleshooting issues regarding Safety; Quality; Tooling,…Data analysis for improvement project, apply Pareto chart, Root cause analysis,…,IE form Communicate in a collaborative environment to provide mechanical design support for the design needs of internal customers.Validate that Product Quality and Process Reliability are designed into all projects through project qualifications.Understand the purposes and review of project costing and margin

with applications engineering.Ensures the project delivered is compliant with all relevant OSHA, ANSI and local standards in respect to the design and engineering work practices.Conduct regular project meetings with the project team throughout the project on: Machine/Equipment/Tooling design and status and Controls/Systems design and status. Required Experience:Final-year students majoring in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Automation, Robotics, and related fieldsMinimum GPA of 2.8 /4.0 in relevant fields of studyCommitment to complete fully 130 days/yearHave English Skills (Speaking&Writing)Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team and proactive attitudeStrong analytical skill; problem solving mindset and willing to work on shopfloorAbility to use SolidWorks and MS Office Suite, and general computer literacy.Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projectsEager to gain new expertise and quick to pick up required skillsDemonstration of flexibility, innovation, customer service, and ability to create win/win solutionsMust be able to sit/stand for at least 90 consecutive minutes
