As a Senior Backend Developer, you will join the AI-Powered Takeoff Team in Vietnam, collaborating closely with U.S. stakeholders and coordinating with external vendors to build an AI-driven product that transforms technical drawings (PDFs, CAD files, and blueprints) into actionable data, directly improving product performance and business efficiency. AI-Powered Takeoff is an intelligent construction TakeOff platform designed to automate material quantity takeoffs from architectural and engineering drawings. By leveraging computer vision, machine learning, and the system extracts, measures, and categorizes building components directly from digital blueprints PDF, significantly reducing manual effort, errors, and turnaround time.

The objective of AI-Powered Takeoff is to:

Automate quantity detection from drawings

Assist with measurements (length, area, count, volume)

Organize extracted quantities in structured formats

Support revision comparison

Reduce manual tracing effort

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Backend Engineering:

Design, build, and maintain backend services using Python, C#.

Develop APIs, background services, distributed workers, and integration modules.

Build postprocessing logic to convert AI inference results into business ready structures.

Design scalable backend architecture supporting long running processes and high throughput.

Use Docker for containerization, service isolation, and deployment of workflows.

Performance tuning, scaling, and workflow optimization.

AI Service Integration:

Integrate in-house AI models through backend APIs and AI-hosted inference services.

Connect backend services to AI inference pipelines.

Implement validation of layers, fallbacks, retry logic, and monitor AI behavior.

Diagnose and resolve issues across AI orchestration, data handling, and pipeline interoperability.

Work with AI pipelines and coordinate multi-step inference flows with serverless, event based.

MLOps & Deployment

Deploy models into production with scalable, low-latency infrastructure.

Optimize Compute usage and cloud resource consumption (Azure, AWS, or GCP).

Implement monitoring systems for model performance, drift detection, and automated retraining pipelines.

Maintain model serving infrastructure (TorchServe, ONNX, Triton, or equivalent).

Collaboration, Delivery & Support

Collaborate closely with PTO Tool team, AI team, US partners, and vendors.

Support QA, troubleshoot production workflows, and drive continuous improvement.

Translate complex CV/ML outputs into actionable insights for estimators, project managers, and product stakeholders

Your Skills and Experience

If you can do everything listed above, you’ve got what it takes. Perhaps some of the following would be helpful too:

Background:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science

TOEIC 600 or Relevant

5+ years’ professional experience in software development role.

3+ years’ experience as a Full Stack Developer with in-depth knowledge of Python, C#, .NET backend technologies.

Technical Skill:

Strong proficiency in Python, C#/.NET backend engineering.

Proficient in Web Development, REST APIs, Database (SQL/NoSQL), and Unit Testing.

Strong experience in solid debugging, monitoring, performance tuning, and reliability engineering skills.

Experience in microservices, event-driven, and distributed systems.

Experience in Azure Cloud services (Functions, Storage, Event systems, Machine Learning, …).

Experience in Docker for packaging and local development.

Proficient in source code control (Git), CI/CD, deployment, and automation workflows.

Working knowledge of Python, especially computer vision or integration tasks is a plus.

Experience in AI integration and transforming them into production logic is a plus.

Experience in front-end frameworks (e.g. React, Angular, Vue) is a plus.

Experience in leading software development teams (technical, team or project leader) is a plus.

Experience in construction tech (CAD/PDF/Blueprint data) is a plus.

Other Requirements

Ability to communicate technical outputs to non-technical stakeholders

Strong written and spoken English

Bonus: Experience with BIM (IFC/Revit), PDF parsing, GIS/spatial data, or construction/proptech domains.
